Quilt Group November

Peg brought Mom's Christmas Quilt to our quilt group the month.
It makes me want to make one like it.

"I Did It" Finally

Steve bought me a quilt kit in St George UT. In June 2007 @ the"Lazy Daisy Cottage" One of the cutest quilt stores I've seen. We bought the kit so I could do handwork while traveling. I got real sick right after we bought the kit and had to cut the trip short and have my Gallbladder removed. It took me a long time to even look at it but I started it a while back. The small blocks are done by hand so I have taken it along with me when I travel and watch American Idol etc. I finally finished it. I still have to have it quilted but the top is finished. Steve thinks it is his because he bought it. Because he bought the kit for me he knows how much it cost and I think he thinks he owns it. Ha Ha.
I am still looking for a name.
The pattern is
"Dot to Dot"
I have tried to put the word "gall" in the name but it is just not working yet.

Sister Peg made these cute Halloween banners.
Our Mom used to say "eek"when she saw something she didn't like "Like a wierd hair-do..."
or if she spilled something or was surprized.
I love the Halloween reminder of Mom

Blogger's Quilt Festival

Quilt Group Challenge
Everyone made 9-12 1/2 inch blocks (all the same)
Use 30's prints and muslin, any pattern you want.
We exchanged blocks and we all ended up with 9 different blocks
Then we were on our own to finish the quilt.
This is my quilt finished
I added the names on each block so I could remember who made each block
I love these ladies!

New Baby Quilt

Lisa had her third Baby Broadbent(no name yet) Oct. 5th 2009
Grandma K finished her quilt just in time.
I used the disappearing 9-patch pattern
The fabric pattern was big so I used 8 inch blocks
I used 9 different fabrics and cut 4 -8inch blocks of each fabric.
I put the biggest pattern blocks in the corner and the lighter in the center.
It measured 45x45 inches
The quilt was backed with Minkie and I quilted it with a walking foot along the seams of each block

Dresden Plate still in the works

I have been working on these blocks for about a year now.
I have 12 completed with hand applique around each 15 inch block.
I am ready to put the centers on and I have have a hard time deciding what size, what color.
I took these blocks to my quilt group to "audition" what to put in the middle of each block.
Hands down
Big Red circle.

Projects I'm Working On

I only have about 25 4-inch blocks to applique and I will be ready to sew this Dot to Dot quilt together. I need 144!

Christmas BOM from Gail Pan
Six finished

Just starting a Hexagon quilt. I found a stamp at a quilt show. You stamp the wrong side of the fabric and match the lines and sew on the lines.
No templates needed. So far so good.
