October Quilting

One of my first quilt projects.
Made for daughter Lisa's Classroom when she started teaching school.
I was looking for a Back to school quilt pattern and I remembered this quilt.
Lisa found it and let me the keeper for a while.
(Long enough to take a picture).
For the label I tried to make a school paper and each of her class signed it.
I love this Quilt!

Jarrett was baptized in October and this is his 8 year old quilt.

I asked him what he wanted and he said
"Baseball"!
He loved the quilt.

New York Reunion Quilt
In March some of the cousins in the Hannawalt family wanted to make an exchange quilt.
Four of us made 12 blocks.
After the exchanging blocks we ended up with 12.
We were to finish our quilt in time for the Reunion in October.

Arlene made this quilt for our reunion Host.

Finished with this great label.
With the story

Added bonus was this quilt in the room we stayed in.
Made by Ann, one of the Aunts that has passed on.

Her son gave away some of her quilts and had the quilts embroidered  to remember his Mom the Quilter.

General Conference Projects Oct 2012

I have had this fabric for a long time,
Maybe 4 or 5 years.
I bought the "Mansion De Noel" fat quarter pack.
With the pattern
"Past Times"
Well it is "Past Time' to make this quilt.
All cut and ready to sew

I have a few on my new design boards...
I hope I can finish the top today.

Great Granny Squares

September quilting:  "Granny Squares"  they are  really addicting.
I made these from one "Ruby" charm pack and a few  extra fat quarters.
I have some  adjusting to do (Sister quilter says the green needs to go in the middle), and add boarders.

...and then this pack of fat quarters came in the mail.
Now that I have more fabric, I really have to make some decisions
 I love this fabric!!!

Finishing a Quilt for Aunt Gladys.
She did the piecing and hand quilting.

"Peg is the Best"

On Aug. 13 we were able to spend the day this our Sister Peg celebrating her Birthday.
Peg is the one that can do just about anything... and she is the life of the party so everyone  has something  they want Peg  to do for or with them.
For Peg's Birthday the Sister's (minus Donna)  spent the day sewing . What more could you ask.
We had lunch with some of the Brother's and then went back to our sewing.
We love you Peg!!!

Sister Sally  brought a project she has been wanting us to do. together.
We have been trying to find time to do this project for over a year.

 We were ready to sew.

Look at these cute Christmas Trees.
We are calling them
"Wonky All The Way"

Closing Ceremony on my Quilting

I love the Olympics and supporting the  USA.   What I love even more is a great excuse to work on projects.
I made this Quilt from leftover half square triangles from my "Patriotic Pinwheels" Quilt.
I have a hard time with leftover fabric.

Start of the first Quilt

Left overs really mess me up.

This is
 "Patriotic Pinwheels"

One set of design Boards
Idea from Lori Here

 Four Cousins Exchange Quilt
We each made 12 blocks.
We kept three  and gave the other three three blocks and then finished it the way we wanted..
The left over fabric messed me up again so the corner blocks are made from  the left over fabric from my blocks.

Binding on two quilts.
