Sister's Trip with My Girls

Every year the Girls in our family find a place  to spend a few days together for what we call our "Sister's Trip".
We go somewhere different every year.
This year was San Diego.
Beautiful Weather for Riding Bikes.

We all bring a little
"Sister's Trip Prize"
for each other.
Usually it is one of our favorite things. Or something new we found and love.
This year I brought a project for my Prize.

Kelly's reaction is typical of what they thought of this project.
A year ago at a Family Reunion we had a fabric exchange with Amy Butler Fabrics.
Everyone ended up with 70 - 5 inch squares of about 30 different fabrics.  The challenge was to make a quilt out of the fabrics.  You don't have to use all of them.
I bought background fabric in different colors and they each designed their own quilt.

Laura

Kim

Lisa

Amy

Look how cute they turned out.

They each started with the same colors

The Background really makes a difference.

They did some trading but they all turned out  fabulous.

I told them I would quilt them for them so I have to get busy.
Joni didn't get to come this year.  She stayed home to take care of her family that had the flu but a I will do a one on one with her to get hers finished.

I was allowed  one Quilt Store and this is the one I picked in San Diego.
Great Store and more fabric that i have ever seen in one store.
Great Time!

Jelly Roll Race

Some of our Family got together for a Jelly Roll race on 6-6-12
You sew a Jelly Roll end to end any method you want.
Some mitered  some sewed them straight me a sister Peg put a 2 1/2 inch square between each strip.
We also made our own Jelly Roll using 40 Red,White and Blue strips.
The 1st one was finish in about an hour.
I had a slow sewing machine. (That's my excuse).
 It is a cute Featherweight.
 It is Cute but slow.
It was great fun.
